Baskets

The Basket could be considered the workhorse element in the system.

It's responsible for tracking all the products in the basket across all systems, summing totals, attaching customer details, setting payment methods, and preparing for checkout.

Provider Baskets

Each provider that is in a Basket has it's own "sub basket" or Provider Basket in OneBasket terminology. This provider basket tracks all the facets of the representation of the provider specific basket in that system.

The provider system remains the source of truth for the provider specific basket.

Guest Checkout

It's possible to checkout without having a pre-existing Contact for the customer in OneBasket. The requirement to do this depends on the situation and the types of products involved, but for use cases that warrant not having a contact, guest checkout is a great way to reduce friction in the sales funnel.

The majority of sports organisations are focusing fairly heavily on the overall membership propositions, meaning that more often than not, being signed in would be required, however having guest checkout in the toolbelt is helpful for those cases where transactional opportunities should be pursued without the need to sign in.
